Fire Brick Engineers is looking to hire an experienced Construction Estimator and Coordinator for our well-established construction division. The position would include estimating, planning and coordinating a wide range of refractory projects from start to finish. This is to include; spec and order materials required, allocating equipment(internal and rental), estimating labor required to complete project(with assistance of sales dept/construction mgr), order any special/safety equipment needed, etc. We enjoy a long-standing reputation of providing our clients with high standards of workmanship and projects everyone is proud of. You will organize and coordinate construction projects and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. A qualified candidate must have great organizational skills and be well-versed in all refractory construction methods and procedures. The position’s ultimate goal to ensure all jobs are completed with the high standards expected of our company in addition to delivering the job on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with FBE customers, sales department, construction department, sub-contractors and personnel to determine the specifications of the project.
- Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
- Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
- Acquire/allocate equipment and material and monitor stock/inventory to ensure availability.
- Supervise the work of bricklayers and laborers to give them guidance when needed.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards policies and procedures of both Fire Brick Engineers and the customer. If required; conduct on site safety meetings, provide training, document and reporting.
Skills
- Proven experience as construction project manager and/or refractory salesman
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
- ability to calculate volumes of various vessels
- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- A team player with leadership abilities
