6/17/2009 Shotcrete Technology Saves Time and Money 6/17/2009

While most companies struggle to remain competitive in these trying economical times, many in the foundry industry are turning to new technologies to remain competitive. Although most melt managers would prefer to completly rebuild their equipment, shotcrete cost savings are too good to pass up.  Fire Brick Construction Service Manager reports that FBE has shot over 500,000 lbs in the past two months alone. 

"We're seeing a big up-tick in the number of customers who are trying shotcreting for the first time.  We can re-line the furnace faster and the coloidal silica binder in our materials allows the furnace to be heated up in about half the time!"

In the past two months Fire Brick Construction has used this technology in a variety of applications such as:  high temperature duct work, large aluminum reverb furnaces, channel furnaces, combustion chambers, cupolas and even furnace pits.
